Quran and Science -Is the existence of a black hole mentioned in the Holy Quran?

فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَ وَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ
وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ

I swear by the setting (or falling or fading) of stars; And indeed, it is a mighty oath – if you could know. [Surah Waqiah 56:75-76]. black hole mentioned in the Holy Quran

The verse from Chapter Waqiah 56:75-76 in the Quran, uses the term “النُّجُوم” which translates to “stars.” The phrase “بِمَوَاقِعِ” preceding “النُّجُوم” can be translated to mean “by the positions of” or “by the setting of.”

The term “وَاقِعِ” indeed refers to falling, collapse, or a state of something coming down. The verse makes an oath regarding the fate or destruction of the stars, which correlates conceptually to celestial bodies collapsing or meeting their end. black hole mentioned in the Holy Quran

Throughout the Qur’an, Allah takes oaths by various elements of creation (i.e- Sun, Moon, Night, Day etc.), signifying their importance and drawing attention to the profound messages being conveyed.

In this specific instance in Surah Al-Waqiah, the oath is attributed to the stars, and it is emphasized as a significant and mighty oath. Quran and Science

In the Arabic dictionary the word وَاقِعِ means to fall, fall from top to bottom, collapse etc. In both these verses an oath is made which relates to the destruction of the stars. Needless to say, the name associated with the collapse or destruction of stars in space is black hole. black hole mentioned in the Holy Quran
Below is the detailed meaning of وَاقِعِ in Arabic dictionary .   From here any reader can hopefully understand what the word وَاقِعِ used in the Qur’an really means –

Blackhole in the Qur'an

That is, we can see the words Fall, Collapse, Crash, Get caught in, Get stuck in as a translation of the word وَاقِعِ . And before these words with the word النُّجُوم the star is being said. This means that the Qur’an has sworn in the name of such a situation when the stars fall, collapse, crash, get caught in, etc. And any star can have such an outcome only when it itself becomes a black hole or the star comes in contact with another black hole .
Analyzing Einstein’s theory of general relativity, it has been shown that if the mass of a star is three times the mass of the Sun or more, then after its fuel is exhausted, it can collapse in itself and become a black hole of infinite density.
It is written like this on the NASA website: Quran and Science
If the total mass of the star is large enough (about three times the mass of the Sun), it can be proven theoretically that no force can keep the star from collapsing under the influence of gravity.
The gravitational force of a star turning into a black hole is so infinite that not only planets, stars, but even light cannot escape from it. A black hole produces such a strong gravitational force that it can pull any object that comes close to it. Be it a planet, comet or spacecraft.
Black holes have strong gravitational fields. Every black hole has a boundary around which, once entered, there is no exit.  Quran and Science

Scientists have been trying to get a true picture of a black hole for a long time. On April 10, 2019, scientists working at the Event Horizon Telescope released the first image of a black hole. It is a supermassive black hole at the center of the Messier 87 galaxy, 5.5 million light-years away from Earth. The black hole is called M87, whose mass is 6.5 billion times the mass of the Sun! That means there really exists an infinite energy black hole in space. And in the Holy Qur’an the word وَاقِعِ alludes to the black hole and marks it as a great oath of Allah.
